Additional Course References II

Friedrich Froebel: It was very interesting that he founded his own school and had the school be focused on kindergarten.  I knew that Froebel was a great contributor to the field of early childhood education, but I did not know that he had this much of an impact on early childhood education.

This resource gives all individuals information on the early childhood field.  Talks about and gives details on the different programs that are associated with early childhood, not only for educators, but also for the parents or families of the children.

I never knew how much of an impact the younger years had on a student, but this website focuses on the impact of studies done in the earlychildhood field.

  1. I really enjoyed the first website from Scholastic. It truly is amazing how a man who was raised without a mother and by a father who did not have time for him could love children so much. The quote from him immediately got my attention as well. I will be adding this as a resource to my list!!

  2. Chelsea thanks for sharing the websites. I found the National Education Associate very interesting. I thought the research information they presented was insightful and will certainly come in handed as we progress through the course.

  3. Chelsea, I found your resources very interesting especially the second one where it showed difference resources that individuals can use for the early childhood field. Out of all the resources I have looked at this week, I believe you gave the best and more informative ones. Thanks for sharing!

  5. Chelsea,

I have noticed that you, I, and Dawn tend to lean toward the same views in regards to the ethics of education. I also agree that without qualified individuals you will be limiting the education of the children. I think that people should value education just as much as they value their health. After all would you want a doctor operating on you who hasn’t attended up to date clinicals, trainings, or conferences in the past ten years of course not. Therefore you shouldn’t want people to educate the children of our society who lack the appropriate knowledge and training. I also agree with you that each child’s education should be tailor made to fit their unique learning abilities. I definitely agree that as education continues to change and advance so must the qualities of educators as they plan to prepare the children for the future.
